Cellulite is a common problem and affects nearly 90% of women and there are many causes for cellulite including inactivity and diet.

Cellulite occurs when the underlying fat pushes up through the layers of supporting fibres or tissues under the skin. These connective tissues can become weak through lack of exercise and loss of muscle tone and excess bodyweight makes the cellulite look more obvious. It has also been suggested that tight underwear and jeans may also be a factor as poor circulation is also a cause. Hormones also play a part in increasing cellulite, because as women age less estrogen is produced which leads to poorer circulation.

Cellulite causes the skin to look dimpled like orange peel. The pits and bumps on the skin can be somewhat sensitive and are mostly found on the thighs, hips, buttock and upper arms. The irregular skin surface that results from cellulite is caused by the thickened fat cells, fluids and toxic substances from the environment as well as food. Partly caused by an excess production of the estrogen hormone, the fat cells swell and increase in amount. Other possible causes of cellulite are poor blood circulation, alcohol, refined sugars and caffeine.

Training on a VibroGym is a valuable weapon in the battle against cellulite, especially when combined with a well-balanced diet including lots of water containing foods, as hydration is vital.

Research has found that Whole Body Vibration (WBV) can reduce cellulite as it accelerates and enhances collagen remodelling, improves circulation, increases lean tissue and reduces the size of buttocks, thighs and calves and encourages fat loss.

Training regularly on a VibroGym will assist in losing cellulite and excess fat, targeting your problem areas, and also improving your body shape.

We recommend training for 20 minutes a day three to four times a week. The muscle strengthening and local fat burning will indirectly lead to a reduction in cellulite on the thighs, buttocks and legs. It does this by warming up your muscles and improves your blood circulation (and oxygenation )to flatten out those adipose globules located directly under the skin and as a result will make the skin look smoother It induces a reduction of fat and increases the muscle mass.

A research in Germany measured the improvement of the skin by vibration training. There were 3 different groups. 24 females who trained on the VibroGym for 24 weeks, 31 females who combined the VibroGym with cardio exercises (24-48 minutes) and a group that did not undergo any training. The females did not diet but participants could not eat too many fats and sugars. They had to eat extra proteins for recovery and drink about 2 to 3 litre water per day.

VibroGym VibroGym and Cardio Other group
Cellulite after 24 weeks -25.68% -32.30% 0.00

This table shows that a reduction of 25.68% of cellulite in 24 weeks was ascertained. As soon as vibration training is combined with cardio training during the same period, a reduction of 32.30% was ascertained. It is advisable for females with this condition to include the vibration plate in their training program.
